inside the box

Inside the Box could be characterized as "outside the box", a video animation done frame by frame the old fashioned way drawn with vectors though they may be, layered and overlapping photoshop in movie mode, very basic. The idea was imaginary holographic boxes and artworks in a museum setting. There are size/scale events like the figures looking at the exhibit, before you see them it looks quite different. When you see them, the art is larger. When the white line figures come in they aren't solid, when they walk back through going out they've materialized hpwever you notice they don't interact with the exhibit, either coming or going, That's just the way it is with perception. And you have to want to care. The art, the animation, the sound/music "Reaching the Summit" produced by K.A. Bloom 2015-2025

spend a minute

Spend a minute with…….a kitten, the sky, a mallard couple, and some people. i will be doing additional pieces using the ’spend a minute’ theme: “spend a minute with…….” for lack of a word. each piece will be one minute in length. inspired to create something in short proportion numerous times to string together like a necklace of beads. here, inspired by natural peace and influences which emerge from integrating multi-mediums, i explain this to be of ceramic nature and will also explore glass, crystals, diamonds, ice beads and others moving forward. the category of beadery is fleeting, it flees from a velvet purse as dollars do, as a seagull feather floats and spins midflight. these could be four separate minutes but for the pursuit of free time..... imaginary beadwork: this conjures ‘ceramic’ like textural raku pottery in it’s construction, don’t ask me how. well that’s ok, ask me, but i will have to tell it different every time and chance being misunderstood just because structures like being constructed; maybe that is why deconstruction is so dear these days. earthly burnished raku beads with shiny ceramic decal squares that move. tho it is constructionist it implies a background anti-infrastructure too however, a minute is a good enough time to quietly look at things differently. my mind is open even tho my vision may be a peephole camera. just one minute and i hope it will speak for a minute about something important somewhere in time. ____________________________________________________

visual music based on a graphic score of 3x3 tiled squares and circles three times with 3 visually related 3-color spectrum(rgb) score base images, these image files were also used to compose the visual. experimenting at creating scores specifically for audio interpretation of visual signals or vice versa, finding that i can be very specific regarding the colors and shapes used to score the sound, and researching the various types of visual scores made and used by contemporary composers more info on this later....sit back, enjoy 3:02
